The Gospel of Philip was discovered in Nag Hammadi bound to the same codex as the Gospel of Thomas. This ancient text is “gnostic” but not Gnostic since it does not subscribe to dualism or denigrate the physical world. Instead, the text presents a non-dualisitc understanding of Christian teaching and practice through the window of the Sacraments. The exoteric form of Christianity has value; it can guide the initiate into a deeper inner experience. The Sacraments can move the soul in the direction of union with the Beloved. During these eight teaching session, Rev Bauman takes us on that journey.
