Many today struggle with the word “orthodoxy”, it is a term that has been used to designate a traditional stream of thought, praxis, prayer, and action. In our understanding, two distinctive streams of orthodoxy appeared in early Christianity, the interpretive stream that went East (Oriental Christianity) and that which went West (Occidental Christianity). This article explores those differences and the distinctive features of the two streams.
